WHY?
IN summer 2007 we were quick to realise that what made Manchester International Festival unique was that it was comprised of commissioned, curated work. Whilst that was groundbreaking it did mean that a lot of the creators who form Manchester's day to day artistic pulse were not part of it. So we launched the Not Part Of Manchester International Festival.
From the last summer's success we have launched the Not Part Of Festival, an edgy arts festival unique in not charging artists for being involved. A festival supported by funding, sponsorship and advertising revenue that keeps costs down for artists and audiences to encourage experimentation
WHAT?
We are looking for work by artists and creators from across the artistic spectrum;

and everything and anything else that i can't quite think of right now.
Artistically there are no bounds. And if you want to be involved but aren't quite sure how then we are looking for festival volunteers to assist with the smooth running of the festival.
Where?
Any venue in and around Manchester City Centre. If you're unsure whether the venue is too far away then check with us first.
When?
Our festival dates for 2008 are 3rd till 12th July. Next years Not Part Of will be between the 2nd and 18th July. And then there will be Not Part Of's every summer in Manchester for many years to come.
How?
Contact us if you want to be Not Part Of. Then we'll ask you to carry our logo and web address on all your promo material and to take The Not Part Of Oath (a more detailed breakdown of the things that the Not Part Of Team and those events who take part can do in order to ensure the continuing success of the Not Part Of Festival).
Who?
The Not Part Of Festival is managed by Manchester International Festival Community Interest Company. It's directors are Gareth McCann, Beth McCann and Jonathan Whittle. The directors have backgrounds in theatre, education and event management.
